Moanalua Captures Seventh Straight OIA Title
Moanalua Na Menehune claimed its seventh consecutive OIA boys volleyball championship Wednesday night with a four-set win over Mililani Trojans.
The set scores were 26-24, 22-25, 25-15 and 25-22 as Na Menehune captured their 15th overall league title.
Lionel Gannon and Loa McCutcheon combined for 46 kills to lead Moanalua. Gannon finished with 24 kills and 10 digs, while McCutcheon added 22 kills.
After Mililani tied the match in the second set, Moanalua took control in set three behind strong serving and defense before closing out the win in the fourth.
Kaito Duranceau led the Trojans with 18 kills, 10 digs and three aces in the loss.
