Moanalua Rallies Past Campbell, Advances to First State Title Game
Moanalua delivered some midnight magic Thursday night as Na Menehune rallied for a 13-7 win over Campbell in the DataHouse Division I state softball semifinals at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Trailing 5-4 entering the sixth inning, Moanalua erupted for nine runs over the final two innings to secure the program’s first-ever state championship game appearance.
Kaylah Sato sparked the comeback with a leadoff double in the sixth before later coming in to close the game in the circle. Shayne Kunimura and Jayci Taura delivered key RBI hits during the rally, while Moanalua added four more runs in the seventh to pull away.
Na Menehune will face two-time defending state champion Mililani in Friday night’s Division I state championship game.
