Kapa‘a Gets Redemption, Rolls Past Kamehameha-Hawai‘i 3-0 for D2 State Title
Kapaʻa made sure this rematch had a different ending.
After last year’s title game loss, the second-seeded Warriors returned to Waipio and defeated top-seeded Kamehameha-Hawaiʻi 3-0 in the Hele/HHSAA Division II Boys Soccer State Championship, claiming their fourth state crown and first since 2019. The win capped an unbeaten 13-0-2 season.
‘Iolani Defends Crown with 5-2 Win Over Punahou
‘Iolani faced its first deficit of the season Wednesday night — and still walked away with another state title.
The Raiders rallied from an early goal to defeat Punahou 5-2 at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex, successfully defending their Hele/HHSAA Division I crown. Chase Yamashita scored twice, while Devin Lee, Soichi Amakata and Brody Awaya also found the back of the net as ‘Iolani pulled away with a dominant second half.
